Chef Nowel
Chef Nowel is a celebrated Vegan Culinary Artist, author, and Certified Holistic Nutritionist from Compton, California. After being diagnosed with Lupus in 2010, she transitioned to a plant-based lifestyle, and within a few years, she achieved a Lupus-free clean bill of health.
She is the author of Throw Some Greens on That Sh*t and So, You’re Interested in Giving Up Meat, where she shares her expertise in plant-based cuisine and holistic nutrition. Her mission is two-fold: to educate and empower others on self-care through smart food shopping and preparation, while also proving that plant-based eating can be flavorful, exciting, and accessible.
A proud Compton native, Chef Nowel earned her Bachelor of Science from Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio, and her Master’s in Applied Psychology with a concentration in Public Health from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her talent and dedication have earned her two Vegan Foodie Choice Awards, and she was a contestant on Top Vegan, Season 1.
With a passion for making vegan cuisine approachable and delicious, Chef Nowel continues to inspire communities through education, innovation, and bold flavors.
